[post_page_title]Joaquin Phoenix – Joker[/post_page_title]
In 2019, costume designer Mark Bridges faced an unenviable task – creating a new look for one of pop culture’s most iconic and beloved figures. That character is Joker, or Arthur Fleck as he’s called in the movie of the same name.

Joaquin Phoenix – Joker

The Joker had been portrayed on-screen before, of course, by stars like Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, and Jared Leto. But Bridges decided to make his Joker visually distinct from all of them. He wasn’t working on a DC Comics movie, he said, so he decided to drop the iconic purple vest-green shirt combo in favor of something more realistically 1970s.
