The original 1987 RoboCop is one of the best science-fiction films ever. Fight us. Part of its charm was the fact almost all of its effects were practical. Since fancy technology didn’t exist, they had to craft a 100% real RoboCop suit, for instance. The 2014 remake, though? Not so much.
When the first set photos leaked, fans were outraged. Some said Robo just looked like an off-brand Batman, while others said he was a skinny guy in a kevlar vest. To be fair, it was probably changed because the original suit was so restrictive that Peter Weller nearly quit the production altogether.
