Ask any longtime hardcore fan of SATC and they’ll tell you that a huge part of the show’s appeal was Carrie Bradshaw’s sense of style. While she certainly loved and proudly sported brands like Manolo Blahnik shoes, her chic was predicated on unexpected, offbeat combinations. So those designer shoes were more likely to be paired with thrift shop finds than anything else.
Then came SATC: The Movie, and all that charm was gone, replaced by mounds and mounds of prominently-placed – and often-mentioned – designer brands. It’s almost like the old Carrie was gone, replaced by a shill for overpriced merch.
