With weightlifting and athletic skills like Varya’s, one has to wonder why on earth she never competed in the Olympics. After all, she seems like she would have been a shoe in to win. Varya herself had once dreamed of attending the Olympics, but those hopes were dashed when the Olympic committee turned her down. The organizers of the 2012 London games did not approve of Varya’s father and his coaching methods, and therefore she wasn’t allowed to participate.
