Demi Lovato has been suffering from personal issues for most of her life, and it has escalated to substance abuse, self-harming, and an eating disorder. The pop star claims that she became self-medicating from a young age to help with the pain she was struggling with. Lovato was bullied as a kid, and she was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder after a nervous breakdown.
Unfortunately all of this has led her to pull out of tours, and affected her career in more ways than one. After her management team threatened to leave her, she agreed to enter a rehabilitation center. She has relapsed multiple times over the years, as recently as February 2019, but hopefully she will soon overcome everything.
