For anyone who hasn’t been following the recent news of Jussie Smollett: in late January 2019, he claimed to have been attacked and the motive behind it was racial discrimination; then it was revealed that Smollett may have actually been behind the whole attack and even planned/orchestrated it.
Charges have officially been placed against him and if it turns out the actor did lie about it all, not only will he face jail time, but his career will basically be over. His role on Empire has already been significantly cut down, which is ironic considering he allegedly only did all of this for attention and to prevent his character from being written out of the show.
