Tonya Harding is a former Olympic figure skater, but what it’s not what she is most known for. She went from famous to infamous in when her biggest rival – Nancy Kerrigan – was attacked, struck in the back of the knee with a baton. In the end, Kerrigan was still able to compete, and took home silver at the 1994 Olympics where Harding placed eighth.
Tonya has faced immense controversy ever since because of the discovery that her ex-husband actually planned the attack, and she most likely knew about it. While her skating career fizzled, she is still pretty famous; there are even movies about her story, including the 2018 award-winning I, Tonya starring Margot Robbie.
