Mandy Moore’s double threat of singing and acting came one after the other. What got her noticed was first her singing, with her 1999 debut album So Real. Her music got her mediocre success and fame, which she wasn’t very pleased with. Her music was considered to be ‘bubblegum pop’, which resonated with a very small demographic. Later in her career she would combine her singing and acting, producing better results.

Her role in The Princess Diaries allowed her to sing and act, the ultimate combination for Moore. Her breakout acting role though, was in A Walk to Remember, in 2002. She went on to have starring roles in romantic comedies and voice over, such as voicing Rapunzel in Tangled. Most recently though, Mandy has hit the small screen in a big way, starring as the mother figure on the wildly successful and talked-about series, This Is Us, where she also gets to show the world her singing and acting chops.
