Although there could have been a whole host of things underneath the surface, Angelo never expected to look down and see toes beneath the water. It was about to get a lot worse.
It seemed as though the foot was that of a child. Angelo knew that he needed to step in quickly as there was no way this little one should be beneath the water, let alone brushing past his leg. Time appeared to stand still as Angelo tried to process what was happening in front of him.
