Skylar’s family was shattered with news of her tragic passing, ruled to have been an accident by authorities. However, they weren’t going to let it be in vain.
Her family created a GoFundMe page in her memory, hoping to both raise funds for her memorial service and help make sure something similar never happens again. Their plan was to pay for swimming lessons to underprivileged families, and life jackets for the area’s pools. The campaign’s goal was to raise $10,000, and it reached $11,350 – donated by 177 people.
