Sitlali’s mom was eternally grateful both for Angelo’s act of heroism and for the fact that her daughter was able to make a complete recovery and go back to normal life. “My baby was gone and now she’s back,” she declared.
Still, her mind kept coming back to those moments of seeing Angelo rushing to shore with her baby girl. “I would keep yelling at him, ‘What’s going on?’ Is she breathing?’ and he wouldn’t answer,” she reminisced, recalling the unpleasant moments that were so full of uncertainty and terror.
