The Great Banyan tree is located in India and is thought to be over 250 years old thanks to many travel journals and documentation throughout the years. Sadly, two cyclones left the tree permanently damaged meaning the trunk had to be amputated in 1925.
Now, it stands as a clonal colony that has all sprouted from the original plant. The Great Banyan covers around 156,000 square feet, while the average Walmart spreads over 105,000 square feet.
