Austria’s premiere counter-insurgency unit are an incredibly tenured institution within the Austrian Special Forces, dating back to World War One. Although the potential for border wars in Europe is now eliminated, the Jagdkommando still have uses within global military operations. They’ve been routinely used in areas of conflict such as Darfur to protect refugee camps on the border.
