Nancy played the role of probably the most dominant character on the show, Jo! When a significant number of the cast was being cut, Jo was added to the cast in season two of the show, at 15 years old.
Jo was the classic trouble maker with a big mouth that did whatever she pleased (these were the elements the writers took away from first-season Blair and gave to second-season Jo). Over the course of the show, Jo’s boyish appearance softened to a more feminine and attractive manner, as well as introduced romantic relationships for some added spice.
