David spent two episodes on The Facts of Life, as the role of Major Dorsey. Major Dorsey is in charge of the boys at Stone Military Academy, similar to a male version of Mrs. Garrett.
Now, remember, the show wanted another spinoff at the time (1983) that had to do with the male version of the female characters, i.e. an all male school. The Stone Military Academy gave them the backstory if the spinoff was ever to take off… which it didn’t.
