All fisherman know how dangerous the job is, and it’s not uncommon for their to be tragic accidents that result in death. However, the Deadliest Catch crew was thrown completely off guard by the death of one of the show’s producers. In 2015, Jon McMahon was killed near his home in California, and the police caught his killers the very next day. The show’s crew were understandably shocked by the news, and Discovery made a statement in which they expressed that they were “heartsick” along with Jon’s family.
