We all know from watching the show just how dangerous it can be out on the Bering Sea. If you’ve ever learned ocean facts, you’ll also know that the seas can be greatly affected by the moon, as the gravitational pull can affect the tide. Recently on the series it was revealed how terrified the ships’ crews were of the “supermoon” that appeared in the skies in January. While for many it was a fun spectacle to take pictures of, for the fisherman it dramatically increased the size of the waves, putting them in greater danger.
