These Terriers resemble French Bulldogs a little bit, and their tuxedo-like coat has earned them the nickname “American Gentlemen.” You’d never know it by looking at them today, but when the breed was created in the 19th century they were ferocious pit fighters! These, they have an easy-going, gentle temperament and are great with kids and the elderly in equal measure. They weigh anything from just under 15 pounds to 25 pounds, and are typically 12 to 17 inches tall.
