Even non-baseball fans know of Babe Ruth as the greatest baseball player who ever lived. Playing as a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees, this left hander had the record for most home runs and RBIs for most of recorded baseball history. However, he started out playing baseball for his local minor league team – the Baltimore Orioles in 1914. Ruth’s first baseball card was issued by The Baltimore News newspaper, and shows him in an Orioles uniform, and this card is worth over a half million dollars today!
