Nicknamed the Georgia Peach, Ty Cobb was one of the best baseball players in the history of the sport, and set over 90 MLB records over the course of his 22 season career with the Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Athletics – several of which remain unbroken, such as most batting titles (12) and highest career batting average(.366). The card – which sold for over a quarter of a million dollars – was made by a baking company to encourage sales, and was in the best condition of any of 15 cards of its type ever made.
