When George Mikan’s card was sold off in auction in 2009, it was the highest ever paid for a single baseball card in history up until that point. One of the things that made the card so valuable is that it was printed completely perfectly and with no flaws of any kind, a marvel and rarity for anything mass produced during the late 1940’s. Sadly, we don’t know who bought the card, as the winners were an auction company buying on behalf of a client.
