Sandy Koufax was a monumental pitcher for the Dodgers both when they played in Brooklyn as well as when they moved to Los Angeles. He won the MVP award for the MLB in 1963 and became the first person to pitch four no hitters in a row in baseball history before his early retirement from the sport due to arthritis. One of the few Jewish major league athletes is perhaps most well known for refusing to play on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur.
