Academy Award-nominated Michael Keaton was originally slated to play Jack Shephard on the adventure drama Lost. When the writers told Keaton that Jack Shephard was only meant to be in the pilot episode, he dropped out. Matthew Fox was then brought in to play the part after the writers liked his performance and decided to expand the character’s arc. The show wrapped in 2010 and Fox had trouble landing more roles following a very public 2012 DUI and assault allegation. Keaton most recently played former McDonald’s CEO Ray Kroc in The Founder.
