Things almost went a different direction initially as Timothy Olyphant was close to nabbing the part. The Justified star was flown back and forth between Los Angeles and Atlanta where the show is filmed. He may not have received the job but he now stars in another hit series: the vampire comedy Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix.
