Critics had it on yearly top 10 lists as the best show of the year throughout its eight-season run. Things could have gone a different way when David Cross auditioned role. Most famous for playing out-of-touch analrapist Dr. Tobias Funke on Arrested Development, Cross was a few auditions away for the title role in House.
