Although Claire Danes was the first actor to sign on to Showtime’s hit thriller series, Homeland, the show’s producers had another A-lister in mind: Halle Berry. Berry reportedly turned down the role of the intense and complicated Carrie Mathison because she wasn’t ready to dedicate her time to a TV series. Berry eventually went on to star in the short-lived sci-fi series, Extant, and most recently co-starred in the action-comedy Kingsman: The Golden Circle with Colin Firth.
