Blake Lively was cast in Gossip Girl off the heels of her breakout role in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants film series. Things could have gone a different way when Hollywood’s other golden girl, Jennifer Lawrence, auditioned for the part of Serena. Creator John Schwartz told Vulture that he remembered the X-Men, Silver Linings Playbook, Mother! actress coming in to audition and being disappointed when she did not get the job. Things worked out for Lawrence, as she is currently the highest paid actress in the industry.
