Joining the long list of actresses who auditioned for a role on Friends, Leah Remini was considered early on to play Monica Geller. King of Queens star Remini even made it to the final round of auditions to play the clean and ultra competitive Monica. Producers eventually offered the role to Cox, who had originally auditioned for the role of Rachel Green. She had the longest resume of the Friends cast and previously starred in the hit comedy Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
