Tara Chambler is a main character that was once a police academy student before the apocalypse hit. At the beginning of the show Tara works for Philip Blake, more commonly known as the governor. But she quickly switches sides once she meets Rick Grimes and his group.
Soon after, Tara meets Denise Cloyd and becomes romantically involved with her. Tara may be tough and hard on the exterior but as her character progresses, the viewers realize she is actually honest, compassionate and a true friend.
