Believe it or not, there are actually journalists who work within the military. Their jobs are to write internal military papers, just like an office newsletter but spread to a lot more people. They will go and interview people with interesting stories, break news about different policy changes, and interview generals and other military leaders so that the rest of the soldiers know what is going on. Sounds a little bit more intense than an office newsletter.
