Back in the 70s, the late Burt Reynolds wasn’t about to let a dummy steal his big scene in the movie Deliverance.
His character was set to go down a waterfall, but instead of allowing a non-breathing dummy go down instead, he opted to do the dangerous scene himself. The result? Reynolds shattering his own tailbone, hitting his head and shoulder on a rock, and ending up in a hospital with a world of pain to deal with.
