Patricia set the actor a challenge to fetch her a black orchid and JD Salinger’s autograph before she would say yes. Nicolas was successful, but the first wedding was called off after the couple had an argument at the airport on the way to the ceremony. Years later Patricia proposed to Nicolas where they had first met. The pair were married within two weeks.
