Cage had many relative that worked in film, mainly directors, who gave him an excellent insight into the industry. His most influential association was uncle Francis Ford Coppola – a director who worked on blockbusters such as The Godfather and Apocalypse Now; when growing up, Cage would often visit him on-set. Cage discovered his love for acting at just 15 years old after he had enrolled in a summer school at a theatre which lead him to drop out of high school to pursue a life of acting.
