Cage’s first film role saw the 18 year old feature in Fast Times at Ridgemont High in 1982 where he got to act alongside Sean Penn. However, his first serious role wasn’t until a couple of years later when he starred in the drama Birdy alongside Matthew Modine. The film was a huge success and won many awards following its release. Cage began taking his acting to the next level as it is reported he had two teeth pulled for the role in the film.
