Lena Mary Calhoun Horne was a woman of many talents – she was a jazz and pop singer, a dancer, an actress, and a civil rights activist to top it off. She began performing when she was only 16, and cultivated a career that has spanned over seven decades.
Unfortunately, her Hollywood career suffered due to her political activism, but her songs are still to be found in soundtracks for TV shows and movies until this very day.
