Carrie was a huge supporter of many organizations due to her own experiences with being a woman in the film industry, suffering from mental health issues, and caring for friends who were ill. She donated money to many HIV/AIDS organization, as well as hosted a benefit for amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. She was an animal rights activist, as well as an LGBT and women’s right activist.
