Hollywood’s version of Bonne & Clyde may have strayed from the real life “thing” but Faye Dunaway Warren Beatty introduced the characters to their audience in an astounding way. Not only was the concept of dangerous love a major factor in the duo’s success, the idea that a woman could be the one to make drag the man down the rabbit hole of crime was a refreshing change from the usual bad boy, good girl movies released at the time. Bonnie and Clyde went down together, giving ride or die a meaning before the expression was even coined.
