Woody and Buzz were unlikely friends because of the obvious – they started out as mortal enemies, at least for Woody. They became friends because of two reasons. One, is that they realized the balance they provide each other. Buzz needed a good grip on reality and Woody needed to learn that it’s okay to share control with someone who shares the same goals as you. Two, is because they save each others’ lives (like, a lot). Woody and Buzz transcend the typical children’s film genre and cross into adult territory because of their partnership. That’s makes them a great duo to us.
