As well as being there for each other when their marriages became too much to bear, Peter and Mary discovered that they had the same sense of humor. They would send each other jokes, they would laugh at the same stories, and they had a deep connection that couldn’t be ignored.
However, this was more of a friendship connection than anything romantic. They were both married, and they both wanted to make these marriages work, no matter how difficult they had become. They were going to pull through with each other’s help.
