The young boy was overjoyed to find he could run again. But the proudest moment of all, was being able to clock his fastest mile ever – an 8:15 -only a year following his imputation. Ben wasn’t going to let what happened deter him from fulfilling his potential, and neither were his parents. Ben’s father, JC, signed him up for mile races and local triathlons, taking it, literally, step by step. Ben’s dad often went on runs with him, to encourage him during hard times.
