Besides having the bullet with their name on it superstition there is another strange belief the Marines have. They really don’t like apricots. Ever since the Vietnam War, Marines have not trusted apricots after an amphibious tractor (Amtrak) filled with apricots sank and the soldiers inside all perished. Marines who are stationed on an Amtrak still are superstitious of the fruit even 50 years later, where something as innocent as saying the word is frowned upon.
