Bruce’s grand idea came about after he moved home. Initially a resident of Winfield, Kansas, he decided to pack his bags and move to Canada with his family in tow. Beach hadn’t had the best time of it growing up in the United States due to the conflicts caused by the Vietnam War.
The uncertainty and danger made the man feel like his days were numbered, especially when the Cold War cropped up out of nowhere. Luckily, when he moved away in 1970, he already had a good idea of where to go. His wife had grown up in Horning’s Mill in Ontario, so the family decided it was as good a place as any to start their new life together in Canada.
