Bruce’s grand idea came about after he moved home. Initially a resident of Winfield, Kansas, he decided to pack his bags and move to Canada with his family in tow. Beach hadn’t had the best time of it growing up in the United States due to the conflicts caused by the Vietnam War.

With America seemingly under permanent threat, Bruce saw no better course of action than to jump ship while he still could. Luckily, when he moved away in 1970, he already had a good idea of where to go.
