People in real life would do anything they can to avoid thieves breaking into their home. And the most basic thing you can do is lock your door when you leave.
But for some reason, fictional characters we see on the screen hardly ever bother to lock anything. They leave their doors open for their neighbors to barge in anytime they want, and they don’t even lock their cars when they exit them. Seems pretty risky to us.
