Although the festival was named Woodstock, it didn’t actually take place in the town. It was supposed to be held there, but plans all fell through thanks to some arguments about toilets. The people that agreed to host the festival said the portable bathrooms didn’t meet the right codes…
and they were forced to relocate to Bethal just one month before it was scheduled to start. Thankfully, plenty of people still arrived to groove along to the music, and most were sporting all the trends of the time – including round sunglasses and headbands.
