A song that Marilyn Monroe made ultra-famous was Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend. The song is originally from the Broadway musical Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, but it became wildly known after Marilyn’s rendition in the film version.
Ironically, though she was a huge star, Monroe was not into fancy jewelry. As you can see by her home, she lived more of a modest life and only owned a diamond ring and pearls given to her by DiMaggio. All other jewelry was part of costumes.
