Even today, no one is certain as to who Monroe’s father is. It remained a big debate because there were a few possibilities. Even on her birth certificate, her supposed father Edward Mortensen’s name is spelled wrong (with an o instead of an e).
Monroe believed when she was young that Clark Gable was her father and eventually she grew to have an intense crush on the actor. Sadly for her, her just wasn’t so interested in her.
