Keep in mind that most feature length screenplays run for between about 90 and 120 pages (1 page per minute). But, the original script for Star Wars that Lucas brought to the studio clocked in at around 200 pages. As you can imagine, the studio told him he had to cut down, and the final film clocks in at around 120 minutes.
