These photos all seem to be in good fun. What’s the harm in putting yourself out there, right? The answer to that question, and to the role model dilemma, is far graver than most people would like to admit. In the quest for the perfect photo or most on-point selfie, people have actually lost their lives.
Take 17-year-old Xenia Ignatyeva from Russia, who was trying to snap a selfie on a railway bridge. She slipped and fell, but managed to grab hold of a wire. Unfortunately, it was live and she was electrocuted.
