Originally from Harvey, Illinois, Matthew Doherty started his acting career at a very young age. Before appearing in the Mighty Ducks series as Lester “Les” Averman, Doherty had already appeared in numerous films, including the blockbuster hit Home Alone. According to the actor, he originally auditioned for the role of Fulton Reed, but eventually was chosen for Lester’s role.Doherty later graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in theater and secured a role in the show “Boston Public” shortly afterward.
