Sometimes they exist to help us understand the origin story of a character, and when the film takes us back in time to observe Gordon Bombay as a ten year old child, the effect is nothing short of shocking. His younger self gets played by Brock Pierce, a well known child star who has since emerged into a successful cryptocurrency entrepreneur.
